Internship Experience Ireland, built on the expertise of Language Exchange Ireland (LXI), is one of Ireland’s largest and most trusted Erasmus+ partner organisations. Since 2009, LXI has successfully hosted students from Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, France, Slovenia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Finland, and Spain, delivering internship placements, language exchange programmes, and cultural immersion experiences that meet the highest European standards of GDPR compliance and lawful stewardship.

Internship Experience Ireland, powered by Language Exchange Ireland (LXI), was founded in 2009 by Con Furey and Kieran Quigley to meet growing demand for English and Business English programmes. With expertise in business, HR, and health & safety, they built a strong network of work placements and Erasmus+ partnerships, giving students the opportunity to gain confidence in English in real business settings.

Since 2013, Con Furey has led LXI as CEO and Managing Director, expanding it into one of Ireland’s largest Erasmus+ partner organisations. Backed by a dedicated team of 12 and advanced CRM technology, Internship Experience Ireland delivers modern, GDPR‑compliant services for international students, teachers, and Erasmus+ projects, with a proven record of hosting thousands of participants from across Europe. Supported by our ISO‑certified compliance framework, we combine student‑focused experiences with institution‑trusted solutions, ensuring every mobility project is both unforgettable for participants and risk‑free for institutions.

Each of our 10+ internship locations is supported by a dedicated Area Manager and 24/7 Point of Contact, ensuring safety, accessibility, and integration into local communities.

Through orientation training, employer introductions, social meet‑ups, cultural tours, and closing events, participants gain adaptation skills, peer learning, and cultural immersion. Internship Experience Ireland has achieved three ISO accreditations (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), proving programme quality, dependability, and compliance with European standards.

To achieve its current market position, IE developed a robust in‑house Customer Relations Platform (CRM), now refined through three phases of innovation:

Phase I: Delivered a secure digital platform connecting teachers, students, host families, work placements, and contractors. Stakeholders accessed diaries, updates, and GDPR‑compliant information seamlessly via PC or mobile, ensuring transparent communication and lawful stewardship.

Phase II: Introduced IE’s unique e‑learning platform, preparing students before internships in Ireland. With FAQs and preparatory modules, participants improved performance, built confidence, and earned an exclusive second certificate, enhancing Erasmus+ recognition and employability.

Phase III: Expanded global reach with conferencing facilities to host training worldwide. Supporting KA1 staff mobilities and teacher‑training programmes, this phase replaced static lectures with dynamic learning experiences across Ireland’s top cultural attractions, reinforcing cultural immersion and professional growth.
