Internship Experience Ireland (IE), powered by Language Xchange Ireland (LXI), was created in 2009 by Con Furey and Kieran Quigley to respond to the rising demand for English and Business English programmes. Drawing on expertise in business, HR, and health & safety, they developed a robust network of work placements and Erasmus+ partnerships, giving students the chance to gain confidence in English through real business experiences.
By 2013, Con Furey had taken the helm as CEO and Managing Director, guiding LXI’s growth into one of Ireland’s largest Erasmus+ partner organisations. Supported by a team of 12 professionals and advanced CRM technology, IE now delivers modern, GDPR‑compliant services for international students, teachers, and Erasmus+ projects.
